Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work In The Shade Of The Striped Umbrella by Martha Walter. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 53,125.00 (€ 40,344.02). Admittedly, works by Martha Walter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink Umbrella in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 189,262.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Shade Of The Striped Umbrella von Martha Walter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 53.125,00 (€ 40.344,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martha Walter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pink Umbrella im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 266.500,00 (€ 189.262,13).
