Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam, which included the work Fear of Babies by Marlene Dumas. The price achieved of EUR 16,380.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marlene Dumas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Visitor in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,177,250.00 (€ 4,036,731.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fear of Babies von Marlene Dumas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 16.380,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marlene Dumas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Visitor im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.177.250,00 (€ 4.036.731,89).
