Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work An older, more unhappy version/ Still doing the same old thing by Marlene Dumas was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 16,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 16,380.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marlene Dumas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Visitor in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,177,250.00 (€ 4,036,731.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit An older, more unhappy version/ Still doing the same old thing von Marlene Dumas kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 16.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 16.380,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marlene Dumas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Visitor im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.177.250,00 (€ 4.036.731,89).
