Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Still Life, Vase With Flowers by Mark Gertler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,739.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Gertler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Violinist in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 542,500.00 (€ 764,918.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life, Vase With Flowers von Mark Gertler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.739,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Gertler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Violinist im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 542.500,00 (€ 764.918,19).
