The work Evening Chow on the Trail by Marjorie Reed was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,501.36), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marjorie Reed have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anchors Aweigh in April last year with an auction result of USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,285.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Evening Chow on the Trail von Marjorie Reed wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.501,36) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marjorie Reed auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anchors Aweigh im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.285,19).
