Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Come and Get It by Marjorie Reed was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,295.00 (€ 2,078.80). Admittedly, works by Marjorie Reed have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anchors Aweigh in April last year with an auction result of USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,285.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Come and Get It von Marjorie Reed im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.295,00 (€ 2.078,80) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marjorie Reed auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anchors Aweigh im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.285,19).
