Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Totem siglo XX by Mario Carreño was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 44,589.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Carreño achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cortadores De Caña in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48).

Die Arbeit Totem siglo XX von Mario Carreño kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 44.589,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Carreño erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cortadores De Caña im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.368.444,48).
