Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marie Spartali Stillman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September last year. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work The last sight of Fiammetta sold for GBP 290,100.00 (€ 330,161.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marie Spartali Stillman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Enchanted Garden, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 874,500.00 (€ 976,894.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marie Spartali Stillman erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit The last sight of Fiammetta für GBP 290.100,00 (€ 330.161,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marie Spartali Stillman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Enchanted Garden beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für GBP 874.500,00 (€ 976.894,44) versteigert wurde.
