Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work British Dante'S Vision Of Leah And Rachel by Marie Spartali Stillman. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 15,136.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie Spartali Stillman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Enchanted Garden in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 874,500.00 (€ 976,894.44).

Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Dante'S Vision Of Leah And Rachel von Marie Spartali Stillman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 15.136,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marie Spartali Stillman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Enchanted Garden im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 874.500,00 (€ 976.894,44).
