Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Flower Study In Green And Red by Maria Marevna was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,125.68). Admittedly, works by Maria Marevna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining Nude in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 110,951.89).
