In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction ExpressionismGermany, Austria and Beyond, which included the work Grüner Berg (Kaunas) by Marianne von Werefkin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 95,650.00 (€ 109,832.77), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marianne von Werefkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Styx, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 337,250.00 (€ 426,295.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion ExpressionismGermany, Austria and Beyond durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grüner Berg (Kaunas) von Marianne von Werefkin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 95.650,00 (€ 109.832,77) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Marianne von Werefkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Styx beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 337.250,00 (€ 426.295,31) versteigert wurde.
