This artwork by Maria Szantho achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Venus reclining with cupid and putto sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,660.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Maria Szantho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hungarian Dreaming Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves in March 2009 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,175.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maria Szantho erzielte im April 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Venus reclining with cupid and putto für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.660,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maria Szantho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hungarian Dreaming Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.175,25).
