Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work The gypsy fiddler by Maria Szantho. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,802.27) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Maria Szantho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hungarian Dreaming Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves in March 2009 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,175.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The gypsy fiddler von Maria Szantho zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.116,25 (€ 1.802,27) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maria Szantho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hungarian Dreaming Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.175,25).
