Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A reclining female nude by Maria Szantho was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,422.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maria Szantho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hungarian Dreaming Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves in March 2009 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,175.25).

Die Arbeit A reclining female nude von Maria Szantho wurde im September 2001 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.422,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
