Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A reclining female nude looking at herself in a mirror by Maria Szantho was sold in the BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in May 2001. The price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,181.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maria Szantho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hungarian Dreaming Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves in March 2009 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,175.25).
