Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Maternidad by María Izquierdo was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,164.27) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by María Izquierdo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calabazas con pan de muerto, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 138,000.00 (€ 163,217.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Maternidad von María Izquierdo wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.164,27) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von María Izquierdo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calabazas con pan de muerto beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 138.000,00 (€ 163.217,03) versteigert wurde.
