Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work La Música (Two Studies For The Mural La Música) by María Izquierdo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,618.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by María Izquierdo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calabazas con pan de muerto in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 138,000.00 (€ 163,217.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Música (Two Studies For The Mural La Música) von María Izquierdo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.618,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von María Izquierdo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calabazas con pan de muerto im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.000,00 (€ 163.217,03).
