Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by María Izquierdo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Caballos En El Rio sold for USD 145,000.00 (€ 98,720.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by María Izquierdo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calabazas con pan de muerto sold at auction in May 2001 with the realized price of USD 138,000.00 (€ 163,217.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von María Izquierdo erzielte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Caballos En El Rio für USD 145.000,00 (€ 98.720,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von María Izquierdo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calabazas con pan de muerto im Mai 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 138.000,00 (€ 163.217,03).
