Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, seated in a black dress and white lace bonnet holding a shawl by Margaret Sarah Carpenter. The price achieved of USD 1,320.00 (€ 966.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Sarah Carpenter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young girl, thought to be Henrietta Carpenter, bust length, in oriental dress in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 39,017.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, seated in a black dress and white lace bonnet holding a shawl von Margaret Sarah Carpenter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.320,00 (€ 966,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Sarah Carpenter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl, thought to be Henrietta Carpenter, bust length, in oriental dress im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 39.017,47).
