In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work An Elegant Interior, With A Young Lady Holding A Small Guitar, Together With A Lady Holding A Sheet Of Music sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,713.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Margaret Sarah Carpenter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a young girl, thought to be Henrietta Carpenter, bust length, in oriental dress in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 39,017.47).
