Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September this year Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work Margot's Red Lilies by Margaret Mellis. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,536.00 (€ 1,536.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Mellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scarlet Undercurrent in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,470.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Margot's Red Lilies von Margaret Mellis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.536,00 (€ 1.536,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Mellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scarlet Undercurrent im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.470,34).
