Auction result misses estimated price range

In December 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work "Knotted Rouge" chair by Marcel Wanders for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,628.71). This price was achieved in the auction The Betty Lee and Aaron Stern Collection at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Marcel Wanders have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fauteuil "Crochet Chair", 2006 in October 2013 with an auction result of EUR 17,537.00.

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Dezember 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit "Knotted Rouge" chair von Marcel Wanders für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.628,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Betty Lee and Aaron Stern Collection bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcel Wanders auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fauteuil "Crochet Chair", 2006 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.537,00.
