Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Climbers by Marcantonio Raimondi was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,345.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcantonio Raimondi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A standing nude holding a veil in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 75,741.30).
