Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marcantonio Raimondi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2020. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Neptune calming the Tempest which Aeolus raised against Aeneas Fleet ('Quos Ego') sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,879.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcantonio Raimondi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A standing nude holding a veil in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 75,741.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marcantonio Raimondi erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit Neptune calming the Tempest which Aeolus raised against Aeneas Fleet ('Quos Ego') für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.879,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcantonio Raimondi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A standing nude holding a veil im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 75.741,30).
