Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,104.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcantonio Raimondi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A standing nude holding a veil in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 75,741.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mars, Venus, and Eros (after Andrea Mantegna) (Bartsch 345) von Marcantonio Raimondi kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.104,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcantonio Raimondi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A standing nude holding a veil im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 75.741,30).
