Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Study Of An Allegorical Female Figure, In A Tunic, Running To The Right by Marcantonio Raimondi for USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,981.30). This price was achieved in the auction Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcantonio Raimondi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A standing nude holding a veil in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 75,741.30).
