Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marc Newson could be acquired at Phillips in New York in March 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale auction, the work Micarta Table changed hands for USD 62,500.00 (€ 45,365.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Newson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lockheed Lounge in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 1,568,750.00 (€ 1,788,682.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Newson konnte im März 2014 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Micarta Table für USD 62.500,00 (€ 45.365,46) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Newson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lockheed Lounge im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.568.750,00 (€ 1.788.682,07).
