Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Côté could be acquired at Christies in Los Angeles in October 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the CALIFORNIA WESTERN&AMERICAN PAINTINGS DRAWINGS&SCULPTURE auction, the work 'La Portageur', A Bronze Figure changed hands for USD 5,640.00 (€ 6,646.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Côté achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Halage Du Bois in December 2009 with an auction result of CAD 106,000.00 (€ 70,698.72).
