This artwork by Manuel Serrano achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2009. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Chicanos sold for USD 68,500.00 (€ 45,684.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel Serrano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Escena De Venta, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 168,750.00 (€ 159,529.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Manuel Serrano erzielte im November 2009 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Chicanos für USD 68.500,00 (€ 45.684,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Manuel Serrano mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Escena De Venta beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 168.750,00 (€ 159.529,21) versteigert wurde.
