Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Spanish An Afternoon By The River, Seville by Manuel García y Rodríguez for USD 37,000.00 (€ 23,766.70). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel García y Rodríguez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work El Patio De La Villa (The Villa Garden), which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 60,500.00 (€ 84,715.65).
