In November 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Early Winter, Shannonville by Manly Edward MacDonald. It changed hands for a price of CAD 7,800.00 (€ 5,684.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of CAD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by Manly Edward MacDonald have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2012 the work The Mill Stream; A Glimpse Of The Water Through The Trees was auctioned for CAD 11,400.00 (€ 8,822.95).
