This artwork by Malick Sidibé achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April this year. In the Photographs auction, the work Les très bons Amis dans la même Tenue, nuit du 3 juin (Very Good Friends in the Same Outfit) sold for USD 4,445.00 (€ 4,026.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Malick Sidibé achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 40,582.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Malick Sidibé erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Les très bons Amis dans la même Tenue, nuit du 3 juin (Very Good Friends in the Same Outfit) für USD 4.445,00 (€ 4.026,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Malick Sidibé erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 40.582,26).
