A top price for Malick Sidibé - as previously expected
In April 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction 50 Masterworks to Celebrate 50 Years of Sotheby’s Photographs, which included the work 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 by Malick Sidibé. It changed hands for a price of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 40,582.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 26,000.00 – 36,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 is the most expensive artwork by Malick Sidibé that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 50 Masterworks to Celebrate 50 Years of Sotheby’s Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 von Malick Sidibé zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 40.582,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 26.000,00 – 36.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Malick Sidibé, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
