This artwork by Malcolm Drummond achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2008. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Self-Portrait sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,526.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Malcolm Drummond - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman Sewing On A Couch, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,645.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Malcolm Drummond erzielte im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Self-Portrait für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.526,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Malcolm Drummond mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman Sewing On A Couch beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.645,54) versteigert wurde.
