Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poème sur soie by Mai Trung Thu was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May this year. The price achieved of HKD 40,960.00 (€ 4,909.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 25,000.00 – 65,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mai Trung Thu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 24,375,000.00 (€ 2,609,725.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Poème sur soie von Mai Trung Thu wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 40.960,00 (€ 4.909,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 25.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mai Trung Thu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 24.375.000,00 (€ 2.609.725,69).
