Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mère et enfants (Mother and Children) by Mai Trung Thu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,800,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 221,782.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mai Trung Thu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 24,375,000.00 (€ 2,609,725.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mère et enfants (Mother and Children) von Mai Trung Thu kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.800.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 221.782,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mai Trung Thu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 24.375.000,00 (€ 2.609.725,69).
