Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Le Collier by Mai Trung Thu. The price achieved of HKD 3,306,000.00 (€ 399,798.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,500,000.00 – 4,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mai Trung Thu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 24,375,000.00 (€ 2,609,725.69).
