Admittedly, works by Mahmoud Mokhtar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 926,765.58).

Die Arbeit Ibn El Balad (Son of the Nation) von Mahmoud Mokhtar kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 189.000,00 (€ 222.026,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 72%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahmoud Mokhtar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 725.000,00 (€ 926.765,58).
