Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Arous El Nil (Bust) (Bride of the Nile) by Mahmoud Mokhtar. The price achieved of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 192,422.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mahmoud Mokhtar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 926,765.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arous El Nil (Bust) (Bride of the Nile) von Mahmoud Mokhtar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 192.422,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahmoud Mokhtar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 725.000,00 (€ 926.765,58).
