In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Egyptianau Bord Du Nile (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) by Mahmoud Mokhtar. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,576.86), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Mokhtar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 926,765.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Egyptianau Bord Du Nile (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) von Mahmoud Mokhtar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 84.576,86) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Mokhtar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 725.000,00 (€ 926.765,58).
