This artwork by Mahmoud Mokhtar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2016. In the 20th Century Art/ Middle East auction, the work Egyptianal Amira (The Princess) sold for GBP 545,000.00 (€ 607,146.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mahmoud Mokhtar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Egyptian au Bord Du Nil (Ala Shat Elnil / On The Banks Of The Nile) sold at auction in April 2016 with the realized price of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 926,765.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Mokhtar erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
