Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Mahjoub Ben Bella was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6,875.00. Admittedly, works by Mahjoub Ben Bella have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,592.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mahjoub Ben Bella im Juni 2018 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6.875,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahjoub Ben Bella auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.592,90).
