Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work Miss Mace, Saturday Night by Maggi Hambling. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,126.10), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maggi Hambling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cascading Wave, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,721.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Miss Mace, Saturday Night von Maggi Hambling zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 11.126,10) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Maggi Hambling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cascading Wave beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.721,77) versteigert wurde.
