Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Relief sombre de stefa by Magdalena Abakanowicz. The price achieved of GBP 53,750.00 (€ 63,033.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Magdalena Abakanowicz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle) in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 480,500.00 (€ 403,849.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Relief sombre de stefa von Magdalena Abakanowicz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 53.750,00 (€ 63.033,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Magdalena Abakanowicz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle) im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 480.500,00 (€ 403.849,39).
