Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With A Silver Tazza, An Overturned Roemer, A Peeled Lemon, A Knife, And Nuts On A Table Top by Maerten Boelema de Stomme was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,207.88). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maerten Boelema de Stomme - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Ham, A Glass And A Nautilus Cup On A Table Draped With A White Cloth, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 92,500.00 (€ 105,697.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With A Silver Tazza, An Overturned Roemer, A Peeled Lemon, A Knife, And Nuts On A Table Top von Maerten Boelema de Stomme im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.207,88) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Maerten Boelema de Stomme mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With A Ham, A Glass And A Nautilus Cup On A Table Draped With A White Cloth beobachtet, die im Juli 2013 für GBP 92.500,00 (€ 105.697,37) versteigert wurde.
