The »bidding war« ended at GBP 38,900.00 (€ 49,592.00), 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maerten Boelema de Stomme - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Ham, A Glass And A Nautilus Cup On A Table Draped With A White Cloth, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 92,500.00 (€ 105,697.37).
