Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French The Embroidery Class by Madeleine Lemaire was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in May 2014. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 61,451.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Madeleine Lemaire have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2009 the work French Le Gouter Au Salon Du Peintre was auctioned for GBP 85,250.00 (€ 100,038.02).

Die Arbeit French The Embroidery Class von Madeleine Lemaire wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 61.451,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Madeleine Lemaire konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2009 die Arbeit French Le Gouter Au Salon Du Peintre für GBP 85.250,00 (€ 100.038,02) versteigert.
