Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work TO ME YOU ARE A WORK OF ART by M. Irfan. The price achieved of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 22,837.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by M. Irfan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History), which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit TO ME YOU ARE A WORK OF ART von M. Irfan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 22.837,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von M. Irfan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32) versteigert wurde.
