Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by M. Irfan could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Last Train With Colour changed hands for HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,825.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by M. Irfan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von M. Irfan konnte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Last Train With Colour für HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.825,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von M. Irfan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32).
