Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Not So Faraway From Here by M. Irfan. The price achieved of HKD 138,600.00 (€ 15,351.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by M. Irfan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Not So Faraway From Here von M. Irfan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 138.600,00 (€ 15.351,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von M. Irfan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32).
